2009 A year in review.

Simply put, this year was spectacular.
In so many ways.
I'll leave out the personal ways as they are not what this blog focuses on.

So I don't really know what to post about and I don't have any bands to feature, that come to mind atleast.

I then decided to do a musical year in review. So here we go.

I'll start with all the artists I have featured here on Chromatist in the six months or so I have posted.

My Favorite Albums of 2009.
This does not mean all of these albums actually came out in 2009. These are just the albums I was obsessed with this year. There is also no particular order.

1) La Roux- La Roux

Shiny, addictive, amazing electro pop reminiscent of the 80s. So, pop music *does* have a future.

2)The Fame Monster-Lady Gaga

Reason #1 pop music will survive.

3) It's Blitz!- The Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Most bad-assen-ist band ever. Thank you Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase. ( If you ever get to see this band live DO IT, they are AMAZING).

4) It's Not Me, It's You- Lily Allen

image from

Despite her "leaving" the music industry this year, she still made one of the best pop albums this year.

6) Apocalypso- The Presets

Ahh The Presets. I have listened to this album over a hundred or so times. One of the best bands ever. The End.

7) I Love You- Amanda Blank

Innuendo laden, energetic rap/electro music. Holy hell, she does that kind of thing well.

Remixes of the Year.
Also not in order.

1)Yelle- Ce Jeu (Tepr Remix)

2)Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Heads Will Roll ( A-Trak Remix)

3)Lykke Li- Little Bit (AutoErotique Bootleg Remix)

4)N.A.S.A- Gifted (Steve Aoki Remix)

Well, I think that will be all for this week.
I will post again next week about artists to look out for in 2010.
