Chromatist: Hello Woman E! How have things been lately?
Woman E: Things have been great. We just released our EP 'Hit & Run' and the response has been amazing.
C: To those who are unfamiliar with your music, how would you describe your sound?
WE: We are probably best known for our dance tracks but we would say we are more eclectic than that, as you can hear on the EP. There are trumpet, acoustic guitar and strings battling it out with synths and drum loops. So perhaps is best described as electronic pop music with some unusual undertones.
C: Can you tell me a bit more about the narrative/symbolism in the video for "Reap"? I'm a huge fan of the video, I'd love to know more.
WE: The video and the song are about the consequences of our actions. How we can easily follow the wrong goals and then end up having to take stock and somehow recalibrate our lives. Sounds quite deep doesn't it?
C: What is Woman E listening to at the moment, maybe even some favorites from 2012?
WE: Lana del Rey on repeat. She has created her own world, musically, lyrically and visually. Plus she shares our love for film director David Lynch.
C:What is in the coming year for Woman E? What can old and new fans alike look forward to?
WE: The year is still young, so hopefully there will be a lot more. We are working on the album already, so if everything goes well then it will be out later this year.
C:Any parting words?
WE: It will balance in the end.
Thanks again Woman E for answering my questions, and be sure to check out their new ep Hit & Run here.
