FKA Twigs- Water Me

I fell in love with Twigs last year (was it last year?) with the syncopated and breathy, 'Ache'. After a name change, Twigs became FKA Twigs and this is her marvelous collab with producer, Arca. 'Water Me' is one of those songs that is so beautiful that it somehow made me sad. 'Water Me' implies an inherent sense of aloneness, of disquiet within the self, and dissatisfaction with being alone. The track's video is a bit surreal, a little sci-fi (???) and offers a strangely intimate emotional connection to FKA Twigs herself. So perfect, so breathtaking, one of my favorites of the summer and 2013 as a whole.
